The McKinnon Cougars have secured a huge coup for the remainder of the 2018 Big V season, landing recently signed Sydney King Deng Deng.
We are excited to announce Australian athletic power forward 203cm, Deng Deng to our SCM roster for the rest of the 2018 season. Deng recently signed at the NBL Sydney Kings for their upcoming campaign. Of South Sudanese descent he arrived in Melbourne in 2003 aged 9, Deng attended Box Hill Secondary before heading to the USA to Lee College in Texas, he then transferred to Baylor University NCAA1 in 2015 before playing for two years in the NBA G-League with the Texas Suns and most recently in Lebanon. He has also represented Australia in the 2015 World University Games.
Deng said on his signing “I am looking forward to playing at home in Melbourne for the first time in many years and am excited at the opportunity. I hope to contribute to the team and help them maintain top spot in the competition”
Head Coach Nelson said on his newest addition “Deng is a rising star and we are delighted he will play for the Cougars before heading to Sydney to join the Kings in the NBL.”
