Big V Round 1 Preview!

After months of waiting and the building of anticipation, Round 1 of Big V 2020 is here!

It’s been a winding journey heading into the new decade of Big V. Imports arriving, new players signing and plenty of sides are already thriving.

After plenty of preparation, the time has finally come for our athletes to take main stage across the state and commence their campaigns towards championship glory.

Big V’s Round 1 match ups are set to tip off the season with a bang, so make sure to keep up with the action this Saturday and Sunday!

Can’t make it to any matches this weekend? Well… we’ve got you covered there!

Tune into our Triple Header live stream as Casey hosts Hume City Broncos! Our Championship Women’s Match of the Round will be one to watch with a reshaped Casey side battling it out against a determined Hume team!

Casey’s reinvented Women’s team has held onto only one player from their 2019 campaign, Rachel Winters. After recruiting an array of new and exciting players, Casey will see Kym Royster and Shereesha Richards lead their new line up as their two import signees. Local talents Ella Fotu, Taylor Lee and Milly Ivanov are also expected to shine for the Cavaliers in 2020.

Hume are sure to put up a fight in their match, especially with Rachel Bell trotting on board. Playing with the Whittlesea Pacers previously, Bell averaged 26.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. We can expect local gems Nicole Zammit, Sophie Byrnes and Bianca Babic to steal the show as Hume’s magic trifecta.

Make sure you’re glued to the Big V Facebook page from 3.55pm to catch all the action! The Youth League One Men (4pm) Championship Women (6pm) and to cap it all off, the Championship Men (8pm) will be on the stream as part of our first Big V Livestream Triple Header!
