Whittlesea Pacers score rising star

The Whittlesea Pacers are excited to announce a rising star in their ranks for the upcoming 2018 Big V season

The Whittlesea Pacers are excited to announce the key signing of Last Tear Poa to their Division 1 Women’s side for the 2018 season.

For a 16 year old, Poa comes to Pacers with a very handy basketball resume and some amazing career highlights at such a young age, which include Under 16 Vic metro bronze medal as a bottom age player, Under 18 Vic Metro bronze medal as a bottom age player, 2017 Centre of Excellence scholarship and Gold medal with the Under 16 Australian Sapphires in the world championship qualifiers.

Whittlesea Pacers Director of Coaching Shannon Bodley asked Poa what it was like to play for Australia and she said,

“It was an honour to wear the Australian uniform and to win the gold medal was a phenomenal feeling for the team.”

Asked about her opportunity at Whittlesea, Poa said, “I’m looking forward to being coached by Hayley Munro. She has plenty of experience at all levels and I’m very excited to play on court with her as well. I cant wait to start playing with the senior women’s team, it will be an exciting beginning for me.”

Shannon Bodley is extremely pleased to have LT at Pacers and said that LT is one of the most exciting female players he has seen in his 10 years involved in women’s basketball in this league. Bodley stated that “LT is a pure athlete with amazing ball handling skills and court vision. It is going to be exciting to see the ball in LT’s hand and hopefully putting our Div 1 women’s team back up in finals."
