The Whittlesea Pacers are seeking interested persons for an Office Administration position at the association
The Whittlesea City Basketball Association is looking for an experienced office administrator to work 15 hours per week. This position is an important, varied and challenging role. The administrator is responsible for tasks in the day-to-day operation of both the Whittlesea Pacers Championship Program and the Domestic program.
The role requires initiative and excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be highly skilled in the provision of customer service and possess an ability to communicate effectively with a range of entities, such as Volunteers, Referees, Administrators, Basketball Victoria, Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) and Big V Delegates.

• Grant writing in conjunction with Sub Committee
• Liaison with external entities

• Big V Welcome Notes and Team Lists
• Social media administrator
• Advertising and marketing
• Act upon enquires from new members.
• Coordination of pacer Pack newsletter
• Assist with the Collection of Sponsorship
• Work with various Sub Committees
• General administration secretarial role
• Organize tournaments
• Database up to date
• Sporting pulse use
Assist with providing our participants, the opportunity to develop and play
Administration of registration, both online and paper
Organisation and promotion of holiday programs and development programs
Provide information to club members by maintaining all social media Website, Facebook Instagram and Twitter
Maintain club database (sporting pulse)
Preparation and collation of articles for the club newsletter
Work collaboratively with local media outlets to promote Whittlesea Pacers positively
Assist with marketing and sponsorship initiatives
NOTE: While the above job description covers the major areas of responsibility there are other tasks that the Administrator may be asked to undertake.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Excellent organisational, communication and customer service skills
Proven proficiency in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office and club administration.
Ability to work on concurrent projects and under pressure
Professionalism and attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Capacity to work flexible hours including weekends
Selection Criteria – Highly Desirable
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the sport of basketball or knowledge of other sports. Experience or understanding of the operation of a sporting organisation.
Tertiary qualifications in sports administration, office administration or other relevant discipline
Experience in the operation of sporting pulse (FIBA Organiser)
A proven ability and experience to work with member and volunteer organisations
Some experience in the promotion and marketing of events, special programs and sporting awards functions
Ability to contribute ideas and strategies to support emerging trends in the sport of basketball
