Warrandyte announces 2019 senior coaches

Warrandyte Venom has announced its senior coaches for the 2019 Big V season.

Warrandyte is delighted to announce the re-signing of Ross Charles to the Senior Men’s Team. Ross has coached the D1M’s Team for two seasons, and has done a commendable job, including making the finals in the 2018 Season. Ross has been a member of the Association for some years and has had wonderful success coaching in the Junior Venom program, most recently with U18.1 Boys, winning their MUVJBL Grand Final for the 2019 season.

This strong connection to our junior program provides up and coming athletes with a clear pathway for future development and the association looks forward to seeing many WBA juniors playing in the Big V.

The Senior Men look to cement their place as finals contenders in the upcoming season and the WBA are excited to see another successful season with Ross at the helm.

Warrandyte also announced the new addition to their coaching line up this season, with David Elhage signing on for our Senior Women’s Team. David is an experienced coach at the youth and senior women’s league level and most recently was Head Coach of the Senior Women’s program at the Coburg Giants.

David stated how excited he was to be coming to an Association with such a strong crop of senior and youth listed players to choose from for next season.

I believe the current playing list can have a quick turnaround next season.  It will take 100% buy in from our playing group to my vision for our senior program.  It will also strongly depend on the playing group’s ability to hold each other accountable to our senior program standards.

We will be looking at recruiting some established talented players to complement the current playing group so watch this space for player announcements as we get closer to the next season.

My focus at the Association won’t be just on our senior’s program; I will also work to identify players from our junior program as this will maintain the Association’s development pipelines and also help our juniors identify the Association’s development pathways.

This is a great Association with an established history of success and a long line of good coaches who have started their careers right here.  I’m extremely grateful to our progressive Committee of Management for allowing me the opportunity to add my name to this list of coaches.  I’m extremely excited to get started and can’t wait to start stamping my trademark on the senior program.  I’m looking forward to meeting all of our Association’s great members really soon so feel free to come up and introduce yourself to me if you see around the Association.”

Warrandyte will be advertising for the Assistant Coaches role for our senior women’s program soon and running tryouts for the senior program at the end of October.  The Venom will add information regarding these dates soon.
