Volunteer Week is a chance to celebrate basketball’s champions who may never hit the court, but always impress us with their work-rate, determination and loyalty.
This Volunteer Week we’re making sure those who keep Victorian basketball in a strong shape are put in the spotlight. It’s easy to take to the court each week as you play your matches and leave, but to stick around year-in, year-out and improve your association takes a special kind of person.
Throughout this week – 21-27 May – basketball’s best will be celebrated but we can always use your help finding more. Who are those special people at your association, club or high performance team that go above and beyond? Who are the men and women who dip into their pocket every week to make sure no one goes without at their association? These are the people we want to celebrate throughout Volunteer Week and to keep this energy going throughout the rest of the year. It’s always a cause to celebrate a volunteer; their efforts happen year-round and keep our game moving in the right direction at all times.
Make sure to share your volunteer stories via our social media pages or email to Jarrod Potter – firstname.lastname@example.org

Monday: Welcome to Volunteer Week
Volunteer Week is a fantastic celebration of our sport’s most passionate devotees. Why else would you give up your time and energy? We all lead busy lives, but we see over the course of generations that great allure of parents, players, friends and family to roll up their sleeves and help out. Their efforts serve the greater good and this is the essence of basketball boiled down to its most loyal denizens.
