Ten Maccabi Warriors Big V players, plus coach Al Westover, are off to represent Australia at the Pan American Maccabi Games in Mexico City next week.

Held every four years, the Pan American Maccabi Games is a multi-sport event, comprising spots such as soccer, athletics swimming, tennis, golf and basketball just to name a few.

Participating athletes represent countries from North, Central and South America, as well as Israel, China, Hungary and Australia.

This year Mexico City are hosting the Games, which will run from July 5 to 15.

In basketball, Australia are fielding an Under 16, Under 18 and Open Men’s team.  Australia’s Open Men’s team comprises of players that have graduated and are currently playing in D2M, or are playing in YL2M, which is a strong endorsement of the standard of the Big V league, which also serves as excellent preparation for the games
