Chelsea Gulls announce D1W 2018 head coach

Chelsea and District Basketball Association are very pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Graham as our Division One Women’s coach for the 2018 season.

After a thorough recruitment process, Paul comes to the club at a time when the Gulls are looking to continue to build a sustainable women’s program for the future where it is centred on the development of our existing players and their commitment to the club.

Paul has an extensive coaching background including Coaching Sandringham Sabres SEABL women’s team, as well as taking the Sabres VYCW team to the Championship in 2013 and being named coach of the year. Importantly Paul has over 14 years in coaching junior rep and in developing them for the next step.

The club held the view that moving into the future it was important to have the experience of a coach such as Paul that also matched the clubs vision of junior pathways and development from within. Paul will work closely with our Division One Youth League Women’s coach Kristen Thornell, and our Director of Coaching Corey Standerfer in developing our juniors Gulls so there is a clear pathway for our players as they move through the ranks of the juniors and into the senior program.
