Craigieburn announce 2018 head coaches & tryouts

Head Coach: Eugene Wong
Assistant Coach: T.B.A.
Team Manager: T.B.A.

Eugene Wong is new to Craigieburn, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as Youth League 1 Women's Coach. Eugene has hit the ground running and is already becoming a household name at the Nest.

“I am extremely excited to join the Cragieburn Eagles and am looking forward to being the Head Coach for the YL1 Women’s Team. What this mean for Eagles is a new beginning and a fresh approach. For players it’s the renewal and rebirth of Eagles basketball here at the nest. What I notice about the team is they are a very young core group of talented basketball players that need to be educated, nurtured and guided to perform to the best of their abilities.

I look forward to working closely with players as well the DIV2 Women’s coach Ben Carroll to build a strong culture with the youth league and the women’s program here at the nest. We are focusing on the playing group to believe in their own abilities and to satisfy their hunger to win for the club. My immediate focus for this team, is to build brand of exciting basketball working offensively and defensively and to develop their basketball skills fundamentally to be competitive in every game they play and hopefully to make a run for the playoffs”

Head Coach: Ben Carroll
Assistant Coach: Kellie Bailey-Lynn
Team Manager: Jex and Nicole Graziano

Ben Carroll is a highly respected long-term CBA coach moving Ben has Climbed the ranks through our VJBL Program Ben has put his heart and soul into this club and is moving from Assistant Coach Last year to Head Coach this year.

Alongside Ben we have a long term veteran of our club Kellie Bailey-Lynn who will be assisting Ben and also playing.

"It's an absolute privilege, and an honour to be part of the senior program at the Eagles in 2017/18. I have been involved at the Craigieburn Eagles for 18 years and have loved every minute of every challenge, and this is one is no different. We have a squad that feels they have unfinished business from last year and they are chomping at the bit to get stuck into the hard work. I'm really excited about what 2018 and beyond has in store for our Lady Eagles, for sponsors and fans - now is the time to jump on board!"

Head Coach: Tom Carroll
Assistant Coach: Lachlan Stokan
Team Manager: T.B.A.

Tom Carroll & Lachlan Stokan are two of Craigieburn's inspiring long term junior representative coaches taking the next step in leading our Youth League 2 Men's program. These two have come through the VJBL Program with Craigieburn as Players and then went on to be very successful coaches for our younger VJBL teams. Now they step onto the big stage and are fired up and ready to show what they can do.

"I’m really excited to be appointed head coach of the youth league 2 men at Craigieburn. I first got involved in basketball at Craigieburn at 5 years of age, 19 years later and I haven’t left. With the team making finals last season it’s an exciting time to get involved. I hope to continue the growth that the program has seen in the past few years under the guidance of Kevin Hassall. Also joining me as an assistant coach is a good friend and life member of the club Lachlan Stokan. The two of us cannot wait to get started and are looking forward to the challenge. Go Eagles!"

Head Coach: Simon Wilson
Assistant Coach: Amanda Aldridge
Development Assistant Coach: Ben Patterson
Team Manager: T.B.A.

Reappointed as Division 2 Men's Head Coach after a very impressive first year in this role. Coming off a stellar season Simon is hoping to go one step further this year towards a Championship.

Alongside Simon Wilson is Assistant Coach Amanda Aldridge and Development Assistant Coach Ben Patterson.

"I am very thankful to the CBA Committee for giving me the opportunity to return for another shot in 2018 with the DIV 2 Men’s Team. The team had a great regular season but came up against a better and more prepared team in the first round against Pakenham this past season. We will look to build on the successes, learn from our failures and use our disappointments as our motivator moving forward. We have plenty of talent coming through our junior program and am just excited to be a part of the process."
