Sunbury to put on ANZAC show

Sunbury Jets Basketball Association is pleased to announce that they will be hosting a charity game that will raise money for the ANZAC Appeal. The ANZAC Appeal raises funds to support former and serving members of the Australian defence forces, their allies and dependents while in need.

The ANZAC Appeal Big V games will be held on Sunday the 23rd of April. Sunbury’s Championship Division Women’s team will play Warrandyte Venom at 12pm and The Division One Men play the Melbourne Uni Black Angels at 2pm. The games will include special commemorative uniforms which will be auctioned off over the next few weeks with the auctions closing on the 26th of April. You can find the auctions link on the Sunbury Basketball Associations website and social media pages. The reserve for each Singlet is $50 with all profits going the RSL’s ANZAC Appeal.

Members of Sunbury’s RSL branch will be selling poppies and badges at Eric Boardman Stadium during junior domestic games on the 22nd of April and on the game day.

“The ANZAC Appeal is a great cause,” said Coach Kennedy Kereama “we have members in our club that have served in the armed forces and this charity game is a way to say thank you for the sacrifice that defence force members and their families make all-round the country.”

The SBA encourage the community to give generously to this cause.
