Southern Pen Set to Get Pearced

The Southern Peninsula Sharks are thrilled to announce two of the biggest signings that the club has seen with Jamilee and Danni Pearce both signing with the BigV Division 1 Women’s team.

Jamilee comes to the club after winning 3 consecutive BigV D1 All Star Awards, providing the Sharks with the presence of one of the most consistent performers in BigV. Jamilee’s experience and pure ability will provide the intangibles that the club needs going forwards.

Danni represented Australia at the U17 FIBA World Championships for Women in 2012. After two interrupted BigV seasons due to state and national commitments, as well as injury, Danni is finally set to be free to play the whole season, an exciting prospect.

Jamilee is pumped for the season ahead “We have been on court for more than 6 weeks already which is exciting. I have never started pre-season that early before. The professionalism and the prioritising of commitments at the Sharks is something that I simply love. We have had in excess of 25 people training together which has created an extremely competitive and driven environment”

Danni had the opportunity to play at other clubs in 2014 but has said “I have only just finished school and want to really have fun with my basketball for the next 12 months. I have known Lucas for 4 years now and I know it will be an enjoyable season teaming up with him and Jamilee. The opportunity to have a full season playing with Jamilee is exciting. We have played together before but not for a full season, start to finish”.

The quality of these two girls is incredible, between them they have both been involved with Australian Junior programs, they have each won BigV awards and together they have represented Country Victorian State Teams a combined 6 times.

Sharks Basketball are confident that they can provide the sisters with opportunities to take their game to a whole new level and that by having them as a part of the team, their success and determination will help lead the way into bigger and better opportunities for the club in the future.

Stay tuned for further news and updates on signings at the Shark Tank.
