The Red Carpet- by Big V Paparazzi

05.07.2010

Round 14 was packed with plenty of Big V stars and 10 of them have picked up an invitation to the Red Carpet.

1. It’s not often we can boast a triple-double like this, but Ringwood YL1M gun Trent Zomer is yet again on his way to the Red Carpet after carving Eltham up with 25pts @ 46%, 13 rebounds and a huge 10 blocks. That’s 54 blocks now for the season!

2. Mornington’s Marcus Robinson kept his great form going in another Breakers D2M win. The playmaker nailed 35pts @ 71%, grabbed seven rebounds and had six steals.

3. Is there any stopping Melbourne youngster Isabella Brancatisano? After hitting 19pts and grabbing 10 rebounds in her YLW game, Izzy B netted 28pts in SCW for the Tigers against Eltham.

4. Darebin scored a win in D3M over Cranbourne and leading the way was Erfan Momeni with 33pts @ 46%, 10 rebounds, nine assists and seven steals. Now that’s what you call filling the stats sheet up!

5. Sticking with D3M, Matt Deppeler gets a call up this week after an impressive outing against Pakenham. Leading the way, Deppeler scored 29pts @ 71% and added five rebounds, four assists and two steals.

6. Coming off a rare loss, Chelsea rebounded with a win in D2W and it was largely thanks to a huge line by guard Kate Mahoney, who landed 27pts @ 50%, including six treys, with three steals and four assists also helping to get the job done.

7. Former NBL star Marcus Timmons couldn’t get McKinnon across the line against Mornington, but he went down swinging with 31pts @ 65%, 10 rebounds and a trio of treys.

8. We’ve missed Mildura’s Vanessa Power the last few weeks, but she’s back after scoring 35pts @ 63% against Craigieburn. The hot shooter put down five treys and added eight rebounds, three steals and three assists.

9. Sunbury’s Alex Bogart-King brought Werribee back to Earth with a thud in D1M, upsetting the Devils with 30pts @ 63%, seven rebounds and two blocks, all of which came in 23 minutes.

10. Another big double-double for Camberwell’s Simon Hughes in D3M against Mildura. The unbeaten Heat got up by 6pts, but Hughes did his best for the Dragons with 24pts and 20 rebounds.
