The Red Carpet by Big V Paparazzi


With more than 1200 fans voting on last week’s Red Carpet, there is plenty of interest in the top 10 stars each week. So who will get an invite to this week’s Red Carpet? Read on and cast your vote for the pick of the bunch!


1. With Darryl Corletto sidelined, it was no surprise to see Matt Snowball step up and deliver the goods. The Hawks stalwart got his team across the line at Waverley with 28pts @ 53%, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and four treys.


2. Mornington’s Marcus Robinson came to play on Saturday night and was the standout performer in his team’s D2M win over Coburg, landing 38pts @ 43%, grabbing six rebounds and adding three steals, three assists and three shots from downtown.


3. Latrobe City’s Jordan Canovan is back on the Red Carpet after a big line against Blackburn inD2M. The Energy star hit 25pts @ 58%, latched onto 10 boards, had two steals and one block, and dished out nine assists.


4. Cranbourne may have come up short against Melton in D3M, but it wasn’t through a lack of trying by Jayden McMillin, who topped the stats for the Cavaliers with 31pts, 18 rebounds, three steals and two assists.


5. In a big showdown with Waverley, it was no surprise to see Ringwood’s Trent Zomer guide the Hawks to victory. Zomer netted 31pts @ 48%, hauled in 14 rebounds and added three blocks and three steals.


6. Melbourne’s Isabella Brancatisano continued her good form in a YLW win against Bulleen with 25pts @ 50%, eight rebounds and four assists.


7. Kevin Anstey led LTU to a bottom-of-the-ladder win against Keysborough in D1M on Sunday with 24pts, 17 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and two assists.


8. Altona’s Stacey Barr is a young gun on the rise and put her class on display in Sunday’s D1W win over Werribee. Barr scored 32pts @ 68%, grabbed 16 rebounds and added six assists and five steals in a super game.


9. His team went down to Ringwood in SCM, but once again Waverley’s Ivan Platenik lived up to is end of the deal with 25pts and 18 rebounds.


10. With 16 straight wins it’s only right that Warrnambool’s D1W coach Peter Davis gets an invite to the Red Carpet. He’ll be a happy man this week given his Mermaids scored the last 15pts with 3:21 in the game against Mildura to win by 13pts.
