The Chelsea Gulls Division One Men’s team are thrilled to sign Australian born duo Mitch Riggs & Aaron Frost for the remainder of the 2018 season.
Both players have returned from huge seasons at Newberry College (Riggs) and Dawsons College (Frost) and are excited to now be playing at Chelsea.
Mitch has been recently playing SEABL at Dandenong and his move to Chelsea as a 6’5 guard/forward is a massive coup for the back court which already includes stars Corey Standerfer and Matt Brasser, while 6’9 Aaron will be a great addition to the big man rotation at the Nest.
Head Coach Peter Caspersz is extremely pleased to have both men now suiting up and hopefully helping his team strive for play offs.
“We knew Aaron was back in late May and we couldn’t wait to get him here and playing, being 6’9 but also able to run the floor and hit up 3’s as well will give us tremendous presence inside and out, while the surprise was gaining Mitch who we all know is a quality player who can light up on the arc but also be so effective at the post area and gives us so much flexibility and his smart ball usage will be a bonus for the other players. We were running a bit tight on personal lately (9 players) so getting these guys into the action will allow for more time for players to get much needed rest especially on double headers,” Caspersz explained.
