2019 Statisticians Courses

Want to sit courtside at basketball games and further develop your basketball skills and potentially do it professionally?

The 2019 Statisticians Courses have now been released and there will be four different opportunities to get involved. Every Association requires statisticians and you can make a difference!

The following dates and times is where you can learn and continue to refine your statistical skills:

Saturday 23rd Feb 

Level 1 10am to 1pm at SBC

“This course will provide you with all the interpretations and definitions to record stats for any basketball game.
This is all theory and there is an online exam to complete afterwards in order to receive your accreditation.”

Version 7 2:30 till 5 at SBC

“We will teach you how to load a game using a license key and some tips and tricks to using V7.

Please bring laptop with V7 loaded.

MUST RSVP to ensure we have enough space for everyone.”

Sunday 24th Feb

Level 1 10 till 1 at Sunbury

Will incorporate both theory and Livestats Version 7 computer training.

Session will be run by Erin O’Connell (NBL, WNBL, Elite League, Big V) and Lee Marshall (WNBL and Big V). Have also both done stats for Australian International Games.

Please RSVP by Friday 22nd February with the amount of people that will be attending. There is no cost for the course.

Wednesday 27th Feb

Level 1  7:15 till 10 at Warrandyte

“This course will provide you with all the interpretations and definitions to record stats for any basketball game.
This is all theory and there is an online exam to complete afterwards in order to receive your accreditation.”

Friday 1st March

Level 1 at State Basketball Centre – 6pm-9pm

“This course will provide you with all the interpretations and definitions to record stats for any basketball game.

This is all theory and there is an online exam to complete afterwards in order to receive your accreditation.”

Session will be run by Kevin Ng, who is currently doing WNBL and BigV and has had international experience.

Saturday 2nd March 

ALL – Rosebud Secondary College 11-2 pm

We are aiming to run one large class before the BigV season starts, and will incorporate both theory and Livestats Version 7 computer training. 

Could you (or your relevant statisticians) please RSVP by Wednesday 27nd February with the amount of people that will be attending. There is no cost for the course.

Saturday 2nd March  

12:30-4:30pm RMIT Bundoora

Sunday 3rd March

Level 1 at Melbourne Uni  11 till 3

Will incorporate both theory and Livestats Version 7 computer training. 
Session will be run by Sean Gallagher and Sam Northcott, both statisticians for Melbourne United.

Both are currently doing NBL, WNBL, Elite League, and Big V. Both done stats for Australian International Games and Sean represented Victorian at the Gold Coast Commonwealth games
